ake no mistake about it, we are at a moral crossroad in the USA today. This election must be an act of moral contrition and repentance. We may not like either of the candidate's political images, but we must vote for real change and repent from our past mistakes as a People, We must return to the moral center from where our nation was founded and away from the financial corruption and warmongering of the Republicans.
The Republicans claim that they are against redistributing the wealth, which only means they are for keeping the wealth in Wall Street and inside their Beltway. How could a person vote against their own best economic interests, and even against their own stated morality of compassion, and go along for another 4 years of the "trick the down" economics? How stubborn does one have to be to vote for those republican politicians who created this false economy of speculative bubbles and deception?
The Republicans claim they are against higher taxes for the rich, those making more than $250,000 in a year. I don't know of any plummer who makes that much money, after business expenses, but if I did, he would be a rich man in my book. The republicans want to continue granting their cronies billions of more "liquidity" so that they can speculate in commodities or place their bets in the next hedge fund casino. If it is true, as the Republicans claim, that the rich need the money in order to invest in "jobs", why have they invested in such gross speculation instead? The republicans want to continue the gravy train for their crony clients, instead of investing real money on real jobs to restore our infrastructure and our ecological balance.
How could anyone face the future knowing what we know now about the war in Iraq and yet vote for the republicans? Apparently, some 30% of the American People are willing to discount the genocide that was unleashed in Iraq in our name, and yet claim to be religious? Where does their "pro life" morality stand in this logic? The Iraqi People have been long suffering and patient with us, we must not slap them in the face by electing another militaristic "surge" lauder.
Once it became widely known that the war in Iraq was not about "WMD" but rather about power and oil, we should have impeached the gang of political criminals that usurped our government. How sad it was for us to witness how an entire nation was duped into submission by an elite political class and it's minions in the media. Anyone who votes for the republican ticket is in fact either part of the compromised military / financial / media elite, or they remain unconsciously duped and unrepentant.
This is not a secret vote, and your conscience will know who you vote for. Repent America! Let us return to the nation what was once the beacon of hope to the World, the America of JFK, by voting for the dream of MLK!
